AutoCAD is Autodesk’s general purpose drafting and design application, and this category groups it with its specialized toolsets. An AutoCAD subscription includes seven toolsets: Architecture, Mechanical, MEP, Electrical, Plant 3D, Map 3D and Raster Design. Each one adds an industry specific library and automation on top of core AutoCAD, and Autodesk documents them as part of AutoCAD rather than as standalone products. AutoCAD and AutoCAD LT both have a native macOS version; the specialized toolsets run on Windows only. AutoCAD LT covers 2D drafting without the toolsets and without the programming interface. Licences are single-user annual subscriptions activated through an Autodesk account linked to the checkout email.
